About Us
Osteria Palmira is a trattoria in the Monteverde Vecchio neighbourhood of Rome, dedicated to traditional Roman and Lazio cuisine. Founded by brothers Claudio and Assunta Rocchi, originally from Amatrice, the tavern pays homage to their mother Palmira, from whom it takes its name and their family's culinary heritage.
The tavern offers a welcoming and familiar atmosphere, with interiors that recall traditional Roman trattorias. The internal room and the veranda are cared for in detail, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere. During the summer, it is possible to dine outdoors, enjoying the tranquillity of the Monteverde Vecchio neighbourhood.
The cuisine of Osteria Palmira focuses on typical dishes of the Roman and Amatrician traditions, prepared with ingredients selected from small producers, many of which are organic, favouring the excellence of the Lazio region and Amatrice. As an appetizer, it offers organic Amatrice cured meats and cheeses with bruschetta, Antipasto for two, and Tasting of organic Amatrice cheeses. As the first courses, instead, Spaghettoni all amatriciana, Bombolotti alla gricia, Rigatoni alla pajata, Amatrice curly gnocchi with gricia sauce, a rare speciality prepared by an 88-year-old lady from Amatrice.
